TESTIMONIALS:

"...artfully edged wall of glass by Nancy Gong introduced a complex level of views, education and imagination taking cues from many areas of study available at RIT. The glass art work enhances our architectural design as well as our endeavor to achieve the highest LEED certification. . . I believe that including glass art work is a great choice to both be sustainable and increase the visual interest of a space."

Dirk Schneider, AIA, Partner Chaintreuil | Jensen | Stark Architects

"It's huge and it's getting rave reviews by the people who work here and the students that use the center. . . step a little closer and this etched glass offers
other surprises. . . it's gorgeous!"

Janet Lomax, News Anchor, WHEC 10NBC

“There was instant chemistry, fueled by a common sense that the objective for this effort was to create a focal point in our space, that could express hope and spirit in a health care environment. This art needed to comfort people who ventured to the chapel with a simple, non-denominational message. . . . “Most of us likely associate her work with interesting abstract compositions of shapes, textures, color, light and movement. We learned that she is also fluent and comfortable in a more realistic vocabulary when the commission warrants. . . There is great use of color, texture and proportion executed with skill and craftsmanship. Nancy was given the latitude she needed to make a well-defined concept work. She somehow was able to morph it with her ideas of art, to interpret it and make it sing. . . but all with limitations. . .
The piece is very true to your sketch. Th colorful shadow play you described works quite well. The happenstance of the space and its shape serves to frame the work quite nicely. . . Everyone I have heard describe their reaction has been very positive. . . . Thank you very much for all your hard work and giving this project something memorable and full of spirit. I hope we can do it again somewhere.”

“She expresses the passion in that beautiful Pucini aria ‘Vesci des Artes’ sung by Tosca, ‘I live for my art. . . She lives for art. . . a one -person design studio where the artist’s focus is riveted to the creation before her. Her hands lead to the solution of the artistic expression. “

Anthony Amado, Past President,
Genesee Region Home Care,

“I was most struck by the threads that tie this Center to the one that existed at the Genesee (Hospital). Features that were so important to the original center that carryover . . .
The Nancy Gong glass art, which was worth designing the building
around (family room.)”
